Welcome to Clearmont Elementary School
                    The Purr-fect Place to Learn

Clearmont Fun!

Yancey County Schools is a public school system located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. YCS is made up of one high school, two middle schools, six elementary schools, and a K-8 alternative program.

Mission Statement

At Clearmont Elementary School our primary concern is to move forward every year and provide the best academic experience possible through continual growth among students and faculty.

  • Air Quality Due to the widespread fires in Western North Carolina and its impact on local air quality, we are monitoring the Air Quality Forecast frequently. School Administrators are reviewing this information and making decisions at each school with the safety and well-being of staff and students as their main goal.  We have not mandated any restriction on outdoor activity at this time but staff have been informed that if any student or parent has concerns about activity outside, we can and will offer an alternative activity as needed. If you would prefer your child be kept inside during school hours, please contact the school to notify them of this.  -- Shea Laws, BSN, RN, NCSNSchool Nurse
